Best Sunscreens for Hawaii
Dear SB Community,
Sunscreen in Hawaii
As of January 1, 2021, there is a new regulation in the state of Hawaii (Senate Bill 2571) that bans the marketing and sale of (non-prescription) sunscreens containing Oxybenzone and Octinoxate. This legislation is helping the industry move toward more reef friendly sun care products without Oxybenzone and Octinoxate—and we love that. And while we know there’s a lot of discussion around the declining health of our coral reefs—including global warming, agricultural runoff, sewage and over-fishing—we believe that protecting our planet should never be up for debate. Ever.
Sunscreen Allowed in Hawaii
Since we started back in 2010, we have been committed to moving the needle on skin cancer. Our goal is to continue making more effective sunscreen products with the best ingredients possible for the purpose of protecting ourselves, our kids and our community from the harmful dangers of the sun.
We are very proud to say that our Original, Mineral and Signature sunscreen products throughout the U.S. all meet the requirements of the FDA and Hawaiian legislation and are Reef Friendly (Oxybenzone & Octinoxate free).
We applaud and fully support Hawaii’s regulation and are grateful for everything that it’s doing to help our community and our planet thrive.
Thank you, Hawaii.
XO, SB
